Statute of Limitations For Condiments

It’s hard to part with things we love, but when it comes to food, it’s best to be brutal. As the barbecue season is winding down, we thought it wise that we give you a timetable for your favorite toppings so you stay healthy!  (These assume you have stored them in your fridge.)

  • Mustard – 1 year
  • Worcestershire Sauce – 1 year
  • Ketchup, cocktail or chili sauce – 6 months
  • Jams and Jellies – 6 months
  • Barbecue Sauce – 4 months
  • Horseradish – 3-4 months
  • Mayonnaise and Salad Dressing – up to 2 months
  • Chutney – 1 to 2 months

Remember that if you leave mayonnaise or creamy salad dressings out of the refrigerator for more than two hours, you should probably toss it, just to be sure.
