Movie Review: The Guilt Trip

I guess you have to give the stars, Barbra Streisand and Seth Rogen, credit for effort, but that’s about it for this road trip flick.

Rogen plays Streisand’s son, who will be traveling cross-country in an attempt to get chain stores to carry his eco-friendly cleaning concoction.  He persuades his widowed mother to join him as part of a plan to put her in touch with her first love.

Predictable difficulties and emotional face-offs ensue, all of which you can see coming from a mile away.

However, the scenery is nice, Rogen riffs amusingly and Streisand’s star power is still a force to be reckoned with, even at 70.  I’d call The Guilt Trip harmless and women still seem to enjoy seeing Babs no matter what the venue.
