The Lazy Man’s Way to Dental Flossing

Our own Suddenly Solo survey revealed that your smile is the first thing women notice about you (this has been validated by similar surveys from many internet dating sites!).  And good oral hygiene makes sense on more than an aesthetic level… gum disease, tooth decay, etc. are no picnic.

Besides brushing, flossing is a must to remove particles between the teeth which can otherwise wreak havoc in your mouth over time.  Well, there is a new product on the market that makes flossing almost, dare we say it, fun.

The Philips Sonicare AirFloss is a handheld device about the size of an electric toothbrush that uses a blast of pressurized air and water in combination to “blast” out particles and plaque between your teeth.  You can quickly (in a minute or less) air-floss your entire mouth and it uses barely a tablespoon of water (held in the handle).  If you want, you can use mouthwash rather than water to get super nice breath!  The thing we like best about it is that it is far less messy than the solely water-based types of cleaners out there.

The cost is about $75 which, when you figure out what a root canal runs, is relatively cheap!  But even if you don’t want to indulge in this sort of dental wizardry, be sure you take good care of your mouth, no matter what technology you employ to do so!
