Set-up for Seduction

Our research has shown that the majority of Suddenly Solo women wait to have at least five dates with a man before they consider going to bed with him (most men expect some action by the third date!). But irrespective of the timing, you may find yourself bringing a special someone home with you sometime in the future!

We have come a long way from the days when a beanbag chair and a mattress on the floor was sufficient “décor” to persuade a girl to have sex with you in your bedroom.  While her mind may be made up one way or the other before she agrees to accompany you to your place, it is still worth putting a little thought and pre-planning into the effort.  Here are some hints:

  • No scented candles.  While subdued lighting is great, scented candles “smell” of desperation. Besides, you never know what aroma she may hate. Regular candlelight is okay, but don’t overdo it.
  • Music.  Nothing too loud.  A good reference for your audio track is Otter’s seduction scene with Mrs. Wormer in the movie “Animal House.” Don’t wear a toga, however.
  • Chick Flick.  Cozy up on the couch to watch a DVD that appeals to a woman.  Try Julia Roberts in “Pretty Woman,” Tom Cruise in “Jerry Maguire,” Kevin Costner in “Love of the Game,” or go classic with “A Man and a Woman” or “Casablanca.”
  • Wine.  Our research confirms that wine is a woman’s favorite drink. Have nice glasses, a decent corkscrew, and some nice bottles available to open and serve.
  • Cashmere Throw Blanket.  Women are always cold.  A luxurious cashmere blanket that you both can snuggle under while talking, listening to music, or watching a flick will pay for itself in no time.
  • No cell phones.  Make a deal with your date to turn off cell phones as soon as you enter.  Grandkid updates can wait for a bit!

It goes without saying that a quick tidy-up in advance of going out is a must. Think positively – you never know when “the right moment” may happen back at your home, so always be prepared.  Having to scramble to create the right mood when you open the door will likely dampen any developing ardor!
