The Latest in Lube

But did you know that some manufacturers offer unusually-flavored products?  We are talking unusual here!  For example, firms offer lubes that taste like bacon ( and even whiskey (!  Of course, there are more traditional fruit flavors available as well from a variety of different manufacturers.

Just recently, one of the largest manufacturers announced that their products have been certified as Kosher.  Eight different lube lines by American company Wet have been so certified, as rabbis from the Rabbinical Council of California have inspected Wet’s 52,000-square foot production plant and the ingredients used in their products to confirm that everything used is completely Kosher.

Kosher law does not require products that are applied topically to be Kosher, so why is there a need for Kosher lube?

Oral sex, of course! If a substance has any potential of being swallowed, it is necessary under Orthodox tradition that it must be certified Kosher.

  1. Water-based;
  2. Silicone-based; and
  3. Oil-based

Each of these have their advantages and disadvantages. For most situations though, water-based lubes are by far the most popular.
